One of our favorite tequilas at Bone Garden Cantina is Partida Tequila. We love its clean flavor profile and fresh expression of blue agave. If you’ve enjoyed a Partida Margarita at Bone Garden, you already know how good it is. In 2016, Bone Garden was honored to be the first invited guests to Partida’s distillery located in the heart of Tequila, Mexico. During our three day visit, our host José Valdez, Partida’s Master Distiller since 2004, graciously shared his time and expertise so we could learn just what goes into crafting this exceptional tequila.

In Mexico with Partida Tequila

We’ve been in love with Partida Tequila since developing our first margaritas at Bone Garden Cantina back in 2008. We mixed a nice pour of Partida Blanco Tequila with fresh lime juice and a little agave nectar. Nine years later, this pure and simple Partida Margarita is still one of our best. Our customers agree too – it’s the most popular cocktail on our menu! But what makes Partida Tequila taste so special?

Bone Garden’s Highland Distillery Tour

Over the years, we have traveled many times to Mexico to visit tequila distilleries and learn first-hand the art and craft of this special spirit.  In November 2016, we invited Bone Garden patrons to join us on a special four-day, private tour of some of our favorite distilleries in the Highland region of Jalisco, Mexico.

We just celebrated one of our favorite days of the year, Day of the Dead. The meaning behind Day of the Dead can be traced back thousands of years to the ancient civilizations that rose and fell in Mexico prior to the Spanish arriving in 1519.
